Season of Love...My Eulogy for Mama.

I am posting a copy of my eulogy per my cousin's request.  The picture of the pink post-it below accompanied by eulogy and has attached to it the last "Selfie" we took as a family at Disneyland.  This would be our last trip there together.    Love strongly. Live with gratitude. Never go to bed angry with anyone.  Remember Love.              ‘Seasons of Love’ is the one song that really helped me through the last few months.   It spoke to me more than other songs usually do.   I have always liked the song, but it wasn’t until my mom was diagnosed with cancer that I truly understood it.   In fact, the day she told me she was stopping all treatment I Just happened to see this quote, “When you’re happy, you enjoy the music.   When you’re sad, you understand the lyrics”.   There are no truer words than those and for me, the song became an unofficial anthe...

The World is not your Trashcan...Lazy Bastard.

I hadn't thought about it until now, but one thing I noticed about Arizona, is that it's a very clean place.  You never see much trash on the side of the road. Isn't this a lesson we could all learn? Would it kill someone to keep their trash in their car until they get to a place where they can  find a trash can?  I'm just curious as to why people think the world is their trash receptacle, or why they think it is up to someone else to clean up their trash?  I do have to say though that the roadkill count, does add up. Poor little critters. In California, trash on the side of the road seems almost normal. It's disheartening, especially when you see people throwing trash out of their windows.  Sometimes, I wish I could just pick up their trash and throw it back in their car and say to them, "Get a trashcan for your car" or "Empty your crap out when you find a trashcan, you lazy bastard." Sadly, this isn't limited to the highways of Ame...

One more Disney (Leap) Day...

Leap Day at Disneyland. One More Disney Day. One more day to make some money and one more day for those of us who love Disneyland (and were up to the challenge) to spend 24 hours at one of our favorite places.  At first I was nervous, because I was worried I wouldn't be up for the challenge, after all, by the time we left the park, Troy and I had already been up for almost 26 hours (we registered about 20 minutes of catnapping between the two of us during the 24 hours). It's hard to believe that it has been a week since our foray into sleepless craziness and while I am not sure that I have fully recovered from that fantabulous event, I do know one thing, it was worth it.  I have memories, met new people, saw 'Modern Family' being filmed (Thursday afternoon too!), got some pretty decent pictures of them filming, spent the entire day with my bestie since 9th grade and just had an all around great time.  People say we were crazy, and maybe we were, but we did it ...

Celebrating at Disneyland...!

I love October.  It is the home of Halloween, the beginning of Hockey, the World Series and of course, the first weekend is dedicated to Gay Days at Disneyland.  For the past few years I have had the pleasure of joining my friends and my cousin in support by wearing my red shirt, this year I strayed and went with the 'Straight but not Narrow' theme, though I am not completely sure everyone got the point.  Oh well.  Those who did yay, those who didn't, you probably didn't need to. Right? Right. I thought about documenting the weekend day by day, but pictures are generally more fun and more easier on the eyes, then a bunch of words detailing my good time, which some might find as boring as vacation slides.  Okay, usually I would over share, but today, just keepin' it simple and I decided to express what Gay Days means to me.  Then I will share some pics from the weekend. Although I can't speak for everyone at Disneyland that day, Gay Days, which i...
