Day 11 of the 30 day meditation challenge. The Solar Plexus.

Are you ready to learn about your Solar Plexus today?  As with the Root and Sacral chakra's, today's meditation is the same, so let's refresh with that now.  So you know where to "look" or focus your attention, the Solar Plexus is located two inches above your navel and when balanced is a beautiful yellow.  What's the difference between Beautiful yellow and yellow, you ask? Nothing, in my mind when something is balanced, it is just beautiful.  (big smile!)

Meditation:  Do your relaxation breathing exercises three times, (more if you need some time to clear the mind), then breathe naturally.  Now,imagine you are looking at your Solar Plexus. Is it dim?  If so, with each inhalation, imagine you are breathing life into your solar plexus.  For me, this was tough, because when I hear breathe life into the something, I think outward breath, so I imagined that the Solar Plexus was like a pinwheel and every time I took a breath in, it would spin.  Breathe in peace, exhale negativity.  Continue this until you feel your wheel is spinning at a normal speed (not too fast, not too slow) and glowing that beautiful yellow.  Like any of your chakra's, you do not want to over do it, an imbalance isn't just slow moving, it can be fast moving too.  When you are done with opening/lighting up your chakra, open your eyes and meditate using the words, 'power is peace'.

So why is the Solar Plexus so important?  Well think of it in terms of the sun.  Nothing can be alive without the sun, right? Well, the SP is the sunshine of your chakra's.  That is my interpretation at least.  When balanced, it is the home of logic, intelligence and goals. It is kind of the seed for all things good.  When it is balanced, people are generally outgoing, friendly, relaxed and generous.  No, do not expect to balance a friend's solar plexus and then expect money, generosity is the way someone loves you, the time they could make for you, or vice versa.  It is being a shoulder, or an ear, when someone needs it.  When the SP is out of balance, too bright or too dim, it can cause darker emotions to surface.  One meditation I saw, while working with my Solar Plexus simply stated, 'I am the power of peace" and asked those listening to repeat it.

The Solar Plexus is about worthiness and personal empowerment.  I had a dream a few weeks ago, that I mentioned in another post, and the mystery man in my dream said to me, repeat after me Shellymarie, "I am a gift to this world", "I deserve to be in it",  "I am enough".  I don't know who he was, but it helped and when I woke up, I felt worthy of being in this world.

Let's face it, we all have those moments of not feeling a part of something. Maybe it is the path we are on, or perhaps it is just a flicker of darkness, as the sun begins to shine through, casting the shadows aside.  Whatever it is, remember that when your chakra's are balanced, you are balanced.   Sunday I get to move on to the heart chakra.  That should be exciting.

So just remember those three mantra's and repeat them to yourself.  What you put out to the world, you will get back, so be careful with your thoughts and actions and find peace in all that you do, because remember, good or bad, every experience is a learning lesson.

Until tomorrow...love yourself and know that you belong in this world.

Sissy Jo....

Well, it goes without saying that the days leading up to Comic Con were anything but non-emotional.  Is that even a word?  Seriously, my mind lately. Sissy Jo, one of the three girls I call my soul sister, passed away on June 29th, her funeral was held two days before we left for Comic Con. Admittedly, this reminded me, as well, of mama being sick last year during Comic Con, so of course our 8th trip to the 'Con', was a little bluer than I think we had hoped, but we did manage to have a good time, because we know that is what Jo would have wanted.  As we all know you can't make the pain just disappear, or the sadness that comes with losing someone so important and special to your life.  As anyone could tell you, JoAnn was a force to be reckoned with, a little whirlwind of organization, love and smiles.  She loved many who were in her path and she taught us lessons of survival, never giving up and fighting the good fight. I me...

From a personal journey to...

I have blogged off and on about a personal journey I have been on for about a year or so.  It's nothing earth shattering for anyone but me.  I hate to say it, but I kind of became a cliché.  Indeed, I had become that person who needed to find themselves.  One of my favorite quotes along the way came from Tolkien, "Not all those who wander are lost".  It kind of contradicts my previous statement, well not kind of, it does, because I talk about finding myself, but truly, I knew where I was all the time.  Are you confused yet? Think of it as standing outside of your body inside a hall of mirrors.  Like a carnival there are images of you everywhere, but only one of those images are you.  So you go about seeking the solid figure and along the way you hit dead ends, walls, other mirrors with images of yourself and so on, until you finally stop, breathe and realize if you look at the mirror in front of you, there you are.  You stop trying so hard...

Day 8 of 30 days of gratitude.

Today I dedicate this blog to Sissy Jo.  Today would have been JoJobean's 47th birthday and she lived every moment the best that she could.  I am forever grateful that I spent her last night on earth with her.  It was like old times when we had a lot of Sissy sleep-over's, watching "ghosty" shows, chatting, being sisters.   That night she told me her dreams for me and what she was sure would be my reality for the future. What people didn't see was JoAnn's fight.  When it was posted on Facebook that she had passed away, so many of my own family and friend's commented that they didn't even know she was still sick.  In fact, she was on her way to do payroll when she collapsed, the afternoon she passed away.  She had set-up a makeshift office at home, because her dedication to the work and people she cared about, never stopped. JoAnn was re-diagnosed in December 2008.  She had been in remission for almost four years when breast cancer came ba...
