Comic Con - Friday

Well today was another rather low key day. After a mild mishap in the morning, very little was accomplished, but to flash forward, that could be a blessing in disguise, because I am hoping tomorrow is going to be another epic Saturday in the big hall.  Anyway, coming back to Friday, We started out the morning in Ballroom 20 for: Inside The Big Bang Theory's Writer's Room.  I skipped the 'How to Write an action scene' panel for this, but it was worth it, because these writers are hilarious.  I think they also found "the voice behind the voice" of Sheldon Cooper, as Moderator Craig Ferguson put it, in Eric Kaplan.  His somewhat matter of fact and droll responses were not only classic, but perfect.  The panel even started out with a reworked version of Howard's love song to Bernadette, sung by some people you just might recognize, from previous episodes, "Ramona" and "Lucy".

The panel continued on with the usual Q&A with Craig Ferguson, which lead to the usual audience Q&A and a surprise trailer for "Serial Ape-ist 2: Monkey See, Monkey Kill". HAHAHA! This of course prompted the surprise guest to come out, which was none other than THE Wil Wheaton.  The writers vary in their interests and their likes, some like Star Wars, others feel it is a waste of time (WHAT!?  Tragedy!), some like Aquaman and some don't and trust me, this was one of the funniest moments in the entire panel.

During the Q&A a lady comes up to the microphone and asks why the team hates Aquaman so much, but before anyone can answer, Craig Ferguson goes on this long comedic diatribe about why he hates Aquaman.  It was funny, though I actually do like Aquaman.  So the first panelist to answer, is Wil Wheaton who says he actually likes Aquaman, he gets some cheers, points out that he voices Aqualad on Teen Titans, talks a bit about the importance of Aquaman, especially on a planet made mostly of water, then he says to the lady and I paraphrase, "Also, will you repeat the last thing you said, because I don't think everyone heard you", and she says and again I paraphrase, "My grandfather Peter Norris created Aquaman", and Craig Ferguson does a huge back step, hands over face, then he moves to the front of the stage and in the best comedic fashion, continually falls on this sword.  When he closes out the panel, he finishes it off with how much he loves Aquaman. Classic.

Despite the back and forth about DC's water hero, the panel was so awesome.  Not every writer will fit what we believe to be the standard of a sitcom writer.  Yes, their job is cool, but it is also high pressure to make sure we are entertained every week and just think about it, the majority of us go to work every week having a decent idea of what we are going to be doing from week to week to week. This group of people, or any group of writers on any given show, have to constantly come up with idea's, fresh, or creatively re-purposed (did you like that? I thought it was clever),  all the time to keep us happy and more importantly to keep their job, because no ratings, means no show, means no job.  So remember, show the appreciation.

Next up, and please don't hurt this writer, but I headed to Room 6A to hunker down for the Outlander panel and I had to sit through two panels beforehand.  One was fabulous, but the first up, not so easy.  I am beyond my days of loving My Little Pony. I get there is a huge following and I love how it inspires people, I truly do, but while they are cute and adorable I am little beyond cute and colorful, magical talking ponies.

Next up was 'Gravity Falls' from Disney and holy smokes, I must watch this show. I am disappointed that I am not home tomorrow to catch up on this show show during tomorrow's marathon, but I know I will get over it and see them all in order at some point in my life.  That's the glory of Disney and cartoons.  They will be on over and over and over again. yay!  That panel was fun too!  Alex Hirsch even invited his Twin sister and inspiration for the show onstage with the panel, though sadly I didn't get a picture of her.

Then it was finally time...time for the grand moment of the day. Time to fulfill the moment for which I did this mostly for other people, but found myself intrigued and becoming a new fan.  I thought 'Outlander' on Starz just looked like a cool show, what I didn't know was that it was a series of books that seem right up my alley and that it also started out as a book that Diana Gabaldon had no idea anyone would ever see...sound familiar?  Yes, I tell that to everyone about my stories (hehe).  A sign? Who knows. Wink. Wink. Anyway, I am sure everyone knows enough about the show and the books, so here are the pics....

Of course I took better pics, but those are saved for my Facebook page...!  Sorry kids.  Who knows, depending on the likes I might actually share more. :D

So that ends another day at Comic Con...it was still a fun one and tomorrow will be a looong one.  Hopefully we get a good spot for some great pics!! Wish Sis and I luck! YAY! :D  It will be a very early morning!

TTFN!

Meditation for a Full or New Moon.

Are you one of those people who are a little unbalanced emotionally, or mentally, during a full moon?  Perhaps you go a little crazy, or maybe you turn into a hairless werewolf? Well, I may have the solution you are looking for.  I can't promise it will work miracles, but there is a possibility it might be able to help bring you back to a desirable level of sanity. Some people don't give the moon enough credit. Sure a full moon lights up the earth a bit more than usual, and sure it might make some canines bay at the moon, but it can also mess with your personal being. Think about it, moon cycles play with the ocean tide right?  Well, seeing how the body is made up of a large percentage of water, isn't it plausible that the moon is also playing with the human body? Throwing it off balance and making you feel not so emotionally fresh? I am not a scientist. I am not a trained person when it comes to meditations, so I am putting that out there now. ...

Mantra: I choose to be happy/excited.

Hi!  I am back.  I posted my summation blog yesterday, talking about my thirty day meditation journey. I mentioned I would also blog about the daily mantra, but alas, I forgot.  Oops. Sorry about that.  I do believe everything happens for a reason though, after all how could I possibly write two separate blogs, about two things that go hand in hand so well?   I choose to be happy.  I choose to be excited.  I personally feel these two can be fused together.  I mean what moment of excitement didn't result in happiness, or what moment of happiness didn't result in excitement?  Though we usually associate excitement with something big, the littlest of things can also make one excited.   A few days ago, my dad called me up and we chatted for a bit.  Recently back from a trip to Hawaii, I asked my dad to bring me back a pen or two.  I love pens, they are my weakness.  It is also something small when people...

Writing. Day 19, 30 day challenge.

I am making myself finish my book once and for all tonight,  so I leave you with one of my favorite pictures I took with some new fancy app at the time. This is one of my favorite journals and pen. Until tomorrow...dream big and never give up on them.
