Weightloss Journey to 40...Day 2

With my alarm ringing off at 5:21a to walk for 15 minutes on the hamster wheel, I tried to keep my mind under control as I readied myself for my MRI.  Not an easy feat, since last month, when they tried to put me in, I ended up having a panic attack and leaving.  Sqooshy ball, hanai sister and valium, (courtesy of my concerned, yet determined cardiologist) in hand, I made it into the machine this time. So why the run down of my morning?  Because this was the third visit to LA in 7 days and all to the doctor's office. Last Tuesday was my echocardiogram, last Friday my regular 3 month check up with Dr. D, my cardiologist and today my MRI to scope out my heart and make sure it hasn't gotten any bigger.  Getting in shape and losing the weight will lessen the amount of times I will have to do all of these tests. In September 2010 I had to go through a Cardio Catheter test.  Not the most exciting test to go through, since it is so invasive, but then again, it's all ...
Here comes the sun...

Journey to 40 Day 1.

Well the title is misleading, because my Journey to 40 began on January 10th, but in an attempt to turn my blog into something more than just a random thought or picture, I decided that maybe if I document my day to day trials of weight loss and getting my heart into better shape, it might help me to stay motivated, because this isn't just about being healthy and fit, this is about saving my life. I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot.  It's several things, but most importantly it entails a hole in my heart that in my case was coupled with a crushed valve.  I had a dacron patch placed on my heart's hole (insert pun or joke here) and according to recent tests, the pig valve I thought I had, turned out to be a reconstructed valve.  At least that is what we all have come to believe and I prefer to not be opened up to find out.  That said, my life has always been slightly different than other kids. For what seemed like an eternity, but was only about 8-9 years, I walke...
Hitting the treadmill for the second day in a row. :)

I guess i "butt-dialed" this pic. Kind of interesting though...in a very plain sort of way.
