Charley Brown's Banana's Foster...nom nom nom

Charley Brown's...Sunday Brunch of Buffet Fun...

I believe the last one in it's chain, Charley Brown's really defines the Sunday brunch buffet. Whether you wear your Sunday best or your Sunday favorite pants complete with elastic band, you won't be disappointed. Charley Brown's, located off the 60 freeway at San Gabriel Blvd, has been a favorite gathering place for my friends and I for quite some time now. The food ranges from a Waffle bar, complete with One of THE BEST Banana's Foster EVER, a table with salad, fruits, salmon, a plentiful dessert table that shares space with milk, juices and cereal, another table with standard breakfast choices, plus some Mexican dishes, plus stations with freshly sliced roast beef, ham and sometimes turkey. This station also includes and omelette and fajita bar. There lease expires in 5 years (yes, my sister asked, lol) but I hope beyond all hope, that they renew, or sadly, one of the best places for the Sunday Brunch buffets, will officially be  extinct. :( ...

Fall hits the airwaves (yay! the big bang theory!!)....!

The beginning of Fall means saying goodbye to my favorite summer shows, True Blood, The Big C (ending it's second season soon), but it also means saying hello to old friends that took the summer off and to new friends who might find a place on my  DVR or weekly viewing schedule.  Some shows have new players in the game, others with the same cast.  While I haven't seen any of the brand new shows, admittedly, I did happen to catch the season premiere of 'Two and a half men.'  Though never a fan of the show before, I watched to see what the buzz was all about and found myself chuckling at the antics of Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer.  I don't know if it is a show I will begin to frequent regularly, but it is one that I could see myself watching from time to time. It's been a long time since I have had a favorite show, but from day one of Glee and Hot in Cleveland (returning in November to TV Land's lineup) they both have filled my hear...

HOCKEY TIME!

Subject: HOCKEY TIME! While fan favorite Ducks like Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry have returned, when I arrived at my seat, I spied something beautiful...a cupholder, which for me is a phone holder and a nice DIFFERENT blimp. Okay, Goldie the sheep was cute and yet unnverving at times, but the Anaheim Ducks blimp is a much more welcomed addition to the Pond's (honda center's) air space. Sent from Ivy the iPhone...! =D

The importance of Phone insurance....

Though I loved the case that protected my phone for several months, it is safe to say that the thickness of it caused my button on the top of my phone to stick in the down position forever, because I could never feel the button beneath it.  Probably partly my fault too, but that said, I have to say the best thing I did last year when I got my Iphone 4 was to buy the Apple Care Insurance per Laura's insistence. Today, I walked in, made my appointment, got great tips from Matthew of the Costa Mesa Crystal Court Apple Store (shout out! woo hoo!), found out I should have backed it up right before I came in, left with better instructions on setting up my new phone, when it was replaced, went home, backed it up three times, because I am about as paranoid as they come when it comes to losing information, then made an appointment at the Brea Mall Apple Store, then by 8:45p had laid Ivy (the first) to rest and brought home IIvy (the second). Phew that was a mouthful.  The point is ...

Disney and a little tailgating...

First stop this weekend was Disneyland on Friday....Here's a little friend that joined us for opening day of the Holiday Mansion. The Lucas family tailgate has commenced to full operational function with the arrival of the second bbq.  Yes! Nothing says family photo like a grilling picture in front of a stadium. Dad really can smile. That aside, I think it is better for me to not miss family tailgates anymore. Seems like when I do, I end up bbq'ing the next year.  I kid. I really don't mind, it's fun and I enjoy it! =D  Nothing like cooking up your own bratwurst right? mmm mmm mmm. Post game tailgate, always a must.Yes, this is my mom and yes, those are festive Christmas Reindeer antlers. They were in the back of my car and it just seemed like a fun idea to wear them. Besides, the Aztecs just beat a team 42-24 that runs with the likes of USC and UCLA...that alone is like Christmas (though on this night, my Aztecs could have beaten them too...Maybe!!) SDSU is good ...
This turned out so well. It is in Memory of Barbara, Roy and Gladys....

Happenings in the OC tonight!!

Is scurrying through Disneyland to ride the Holiday mansion not your type of fun? Looking for some 21+ fun...? Well here's your solution!  Go see the Drummer Dude, Rich Smith playing with Soundcake at the Blue Beet in Newport Beach from 9:30p-1:30a. TONIGHT (Fri. 9/16) 9:30pm-1:30am SoundCake (Party Rock!) 107 21st Place (at the pier) Newport Beach 21+ "Like" it on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/editprofile.php?sk=basic&success=1#!/event.php?eid=289228107758025

It's HalloweenTime at Disneyland! la la la la la la, la la la la la...!

Living in SoCal in the Fall/Autumn, means that it is cooler and you can only tell the season change when one day it's 89 degrees and the next day it's overcast and 72.  We don't really have changing leaves, at least where I live, they just kind of unanimously decide when they're going to fall off the tree, whether it be one by one, or all at once and the leaves do it with no ceremony and no pizazz.  Autumn also means that it is Halloween Time at Disneyland which means some very special guests have moved into the Haunted Mansion starting from today and ending on January 8th (pretty sure!)...!  That's right, Jack Skellington and his mischievous band of friends and foes have returned for another year of holiday fun!  Tonight I am going to Disneyland after work, to take my tour of this now seasonally festive home and then home to make my won-tons for tomorrow's SDSU family tailgate and Skyshow! Happy Aloha Friday everyone!
